Easter Buns
460g (3 cups) Bread Mix
2 tspns mixed spice
1 tspn nutmeg
3 Tblspns golden syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar (or to taste)
1/2 cup fruit mixture (optional)
1 egg
400mls premium whey milk or
milk alternative
1 Tblspn butter
Method:
Mix dry all ingredients together.
Add milk, butter and egg and mix well.
Place mixture into a 12 or 6 muffin tray evenly-smoothly the tops of each bun.
To make the cross X:
Mix together 1 tspn gelatin,2 tspns sugar, 2 tspns bread mix, 2 Tblspns Water. Heat mixture in the microwave.
Mixture should be a thick paste consistency - add more flour to thicken.
To pipe X onto the buns place the mixture into a sandwich bag, push mix to one corner and snip a small hole for the mixture to pipe out of. Pipe crosses onto buns before they go into the oven.
Bake for approx 15-20mins on 160oC.
